RIP Iron Lady

Margaret Thatcher has passed away at the age of 88 from a stroke. One feisty and bold woman if there ever was one - and with an intellect, ability to think logically and a liberal dose of common sense too. We can only hope that your policies will one day be recognised as valuable and implemented one day soon. RIP.

And lest we all forget, let's watch Baroness Thatcher tell the liberal socialists where to get off:

The Right Honourable Margaret Hilda Thatcher, Baroness Thatcher (Conservative) was Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1979 until 1990. In 1975 she became Leader of the Conservative Party, the first woman to head a major UK political party. Following the 1979 general election she became Britain's first female Prime Minister. Her economic policies emphasized flexible labor markets, and the sale or closure of state-owned companies "Thatcherism". She became closely aligned with the policies of US President Ronald Reagan, based on their shared distrust of Communism. To her supporters, Margaret Thatcher remains a figure who revitalized Britain's economy, impacted the trade unions, and re-established the nation as a world power.

London - Former British prime minister Margaret Thatcher died early on Monday, aged 87, following a stroke, her spokesperson said.

"It is with great sadness that Mark and Carol Thatcher announced that their mother, Baroness Thatcher, died peacefully following a stroke this morning," said spokesperson Timothy Bell.

Thatcher's two children were expected to make a further statement later.

The former Conservative leader - nicknamed the Iron Lady by Moscow during the Cold War - became Britain's first female prime minister in 1979 and the first leader to win three elections in a row. She resigned in 1990.
